Because life has so many things we can get oursleves tangled in we often drift with what quickly takes the sting away.  In doing so we never face the depths of the issues we need to deal with in order to fully experience freedom.  I love what Erwin Mcmanus says when he says "“We are more concerned with the freedom to choose than in making choices that set us free.”  For me it was alcoholism, I chose not to deal with life and wanted to escape like how octopuses escape behind their own ink.  I didn't know the purpose of wine or the purpose of life and so I chose to escape it.  I wasn't ready to receive forgiveness, truth or love.  My pleasure soon became my vice and the life I had was being chocked out.  Because of my double mindedness I was neither for or against, I didn't stand upright but only went with the flow.  I didn't stand for anything so I fell for anything.
