Ariel is a mermaid we can all relate to at sometimes. She wants what most girls want, shiny things, a prince and legs.  But in order to get what she wants she is drawn away by her own lusts, goes behind her fathers back, sells her soul and almost loses it all.  

2 Timothy 4:3 says:  For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.  

Ariel did not want to listen to her father or friends but instead gave ear to two evil eels and allowed their lies to become her truth.

Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord. Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart.

Children should be obedient and likewise the fathers not provoke children to anger.  The fine balance broken can cause some poor choices and lead to destruction.  Anything worth having must be gained in honesty, patience and honor.
